Bread-Box Web Budget

Bread-Box began from a personal need. As a financially minded student with constantly fluctuating income and expenses, I needed a budget app that could rise and fall from the occasion as needed. So the independent project was born—or should I say baked? Problem: create a functioning web app capable of providing a simple guide to managing money.

Solution: Used encouraging, calm, competent, reliable colors with a mature, but silly, tone of voice. Simple layouts with organized brief information created an environment that feels relaxed and low stakes while helping its users remain in control.

A personal goal for the project was to get more comfortable with web development.
I wanted to make everything myself using HTML, CSS, Javascript, and React: coding languages I had no formal training with.

My independent study professor was thrilled with the success of this project. In less than fourteen weeks, I had created a brand, designed wireframes, and created a functioning site skeleton.
